At Wannon Crossing you’ll find a quartet of campsites on a forested patch of turf beside the Wannon River. It’s a good choice for keen hikers as it’s the closest camping area to the trio of invigorating walks clustered in the far south of the national park – the hard 6–7 km return climbs up Mt Sturgeon and Mt Abrupt, and the easier 2.5 km return track to The Piccaninny. Wannon Crossing is off Grampians Rd south of Jimmy Creek.

Whether for a picnic or a few nights, this is a pleasant place to stop for great views of the falls, which can be spectacular after rain.
