Bluff Hut camping area (Mansfield region)

4WD hiking trails horseriding no pets allowed no rubbish disposal picnic table with shelter ranger scenic area or lookout toilets vehicle-based camping

There’s bush camping among snow gums within a few hundred metres of Bluff Hut, a reconstruction of the original hut that was built on this site in the 1950s but burnt down in 2007. It’s on a well-worn hiker’s path that begins at Eight Mile Flat, wanders over the summit of the Bluff – from where you can gaze at Mt Buller – and then meanders through alpine meadows before descending via a 4WD track (Bluff Track, which runs off Brocks Track) to the hike’s starting point. Horseriders also head up this way.
