Buckwong Creek camping area (Davies High Plain area)

4WD fireplace/campfire fishing no pets allowed no rubbish disposal picnic area ranger vehicle-based camping walking

The Buckwong Creek camping area is one of several possible stopovers on the Davies Plain Track, which heads north from near Mt Cobberas to eventually hit the Murray River near the Alpine Way. It’s only a small site, but if it’s full there are other options at Dogman Hut to the north, and Davies Plain Hut to the south. A 4WD vehicle is needed to reach this isolated bush camping site, which is only 3 km from the Murray.

A crossing of the Murray River and Buckwong Creek are required to reach this site from the north, so heavy rain can make access impossible.
