There was a Jamieson Brewery in this historic town during the gold-rush days of the 1850s – in fact there were three. Brewer Jeff White and his wife, Jeanette, built the new brewery in 2001 and today brew six different ales. The menu complements their hand-crafted ales, with a beer suggestion for each dish. If you can’t make up your mind, start with a tasting tray of the four beers they have on tap. Popular dishes are beef and beer pie with Pale Ale and lamb shanks cooked in Mountain Ale. There are several daily specials such as kranskys on creamy mashed potato and a children’s menu that includes dessert.
