Mountaineer Creek camping area (walk-in and boat-based camping)
Mountaineer Creek is up in the northern section of Lake Eildon National Park, where you can really get away from it all. The camping area is situated on peaceful Stone Bay and can only be accessed by boat or on foot. Whether you’re contemplating canoeing here across the lake or hiking in along a network of bushy tracks, first talk to the ranger about access and conditions.

This campsite is located in Lake Eildon National Park
Nearly 30 000 ha of wild, hilly territory is protected within the beautiful confines of Lake Eildon National Park. The lake itself accommodates waterskiing, canoeing and fishing, while the tracks in the surrounding forest are used by bushwalkers and mountain bikes. No camping fees are levied at walk-in and other sites accessed without a vehicle. To get here, follow the signs from Alexandra on the Goulburn Valley Hwy.
