The Grannys Flat camping area near the banks of the Jamieson River is a good spot for swimming, but take care as there can be strong currents here. For something a little more strenuous, consider walking the Mitchells Bridle Trail, a 24 km 2-day hike to Mitchells Flat via the historic Quicksilver mercury mine. Grannys Flat is 8 km east of Jamieson, signposted off the Jamieson–Licola Rd.
