Mansfield Regional Produce Store
Three yellow umbrellas identify this popular produce store and cafe housed in an 1895 building with high cathedral ceilings and exposed beams. Known locally as ‘the proddy’, it oozes colour and character with fresh produce, local artworks, a rear wine room with more than 80 regional wines, and the savvy cafe serving terrific food and great coffee. Like a ‘bit of Melbourne in Mansfield’, they bake their own breads and fill baguettes with rare roast beef, tandoori chicken and the like. Signature dishes include King Valley dips, sweet potato and macadamia nut fritters, and produce platters. The third Friday of the month is Bracket and Jam night, when top local musicians head up a quickly booked-out jam session.
