Milawa Cheese Factory Restaurant
Restaurant/cafe
Housed in a former 1915 butter factory, this bistro is part of the Milawa Cheese Company’s multi-pronged tourist complex. And although French chef Michel Renoux has moved on, current chef Bob Langmead continues Renoux’s French influence through the modern Australian menu that also has a few touches of Italy. Smaller dishes are popular, such as pan-fried quail, prawns and saffron risotto or oven-baked scallops. The delicious country terrine of pork, chicken and game is recommended. More hearty dishes include braised, stuffed and rolled pork belly, and double-roasted duck leg with the famous local salad of Stanley apples and walnuts with a port and apple glaze. Finish with a local cheese platter, accompanied by sourdough bread from the on-site bakery.
