Along the walking track leading from Mt Samaria Rd over to Wild Dog Falls is the falls campground, set within a grove of blue gums. The cascades themselves are well worth a look, particularly as there’s an unimpeded view from above them east towards the Strathbogie Ranges. You can also trek from here up to the summit of Mt Samaria via the Summit Link Track.

This campsite is located in Mount Samaria State Park

Retreat into the coolness of the eucalypt forest in Mt Samaria State Park. Apart from enjoying the spectacular views from atop granite outcrops, and some plunging waterfalls, visitors also get to see the vivacious local bird life and historic remnants of old logging sites. From Mansfield, the park is 14 km away via Tolmie Rd; from the north, head in along Samaria Rd from Swanpool.
