Barnewall Plains camping area
You can camp on small grassy sites in the Barnewall Plains camping area, which is 6 km down Barnewall Plains Rd from the Eildon–Jamieson Rd turn-off. This is the start of the superb 2 km Mt Torbreck Walking Track. It leads up through alpine ash into snow gum forest before reaching the summit, with its panoramic views. Note: snow and heavy fog can descend on the area in winter and the camping area is closed from mid-June to end Oct.

This campsite is located in Mount Torbreck Scenic Reserve
This reserve surrounds the 1500 m high Mt Torbreck, which lies about 15 km south of Eildon. Most visitors come here to walk up to the mountain’s summit for the breathtaking views of the region. Follow Barnewall Plains Rd from its junction with the Eildon–Jamieson Rd to get here. Note: access roads are closed at times during winter.
