Lumbys Bend is another of the tranquil twists of the Murray River enjoyed by overnighting motorists and intrepid canoeists. It’s also utilised by swimmers, though the water can get quite cold. This camping area is 15 km west of Rutherglen. From the Murray Valley Hwy, head north on Raitts Rd, which will take you through tiny Dugays Bridge.

This campsite is located in Murray River – Bundalong to Barnawartha North

The stretch of the Murray River between the old town of Barnawartha and the equally well-aged township of Bundalong harbours numerous small reserves where you can pitch a tent in the bush – so long as the tent is set up at least 20 m from any watercourse, that is. If you like wine, the vineyards around nearby Rutherglen may tempt you away from the riverbank. Signposted access roads appear frequently along the Murray Valley Hwy.
