The Butter Factory
Housed in a converted 1906 butter factory, this charming produce store/cafe sources good local produce in season to make their own jams, sauces, preserved lemons and more. They hand-churn their own ice-cream, make their own gnocchi, bake fresh bread daily and offer a range of home-baked cakes. Locals know to order the baked chorizo for breakfast – baked in the oven with rich tomato sauce and olives, and topped with an egg. Or perhaps you’d prefer to opt for the Butter Factory breakfast of eggs Florentine-style with smoked local trout. Many dishes are Mediterranean-influenced, such as baked ricotta gnocchi or sun-dried tomato and ricotta gnocchi with blue cheese and white wine cream sauce.
