Haig Room Restaurant
Built in 1863, this popular hotel bistro does classic pub food a rung or two above what you might expect. They know their patrons do not always have huge appetites and so offer smaller serves such as half schnitzels and chicken parmigianas, and smaller helpings of bangers and mash, scotch fillet and pasta. Good vegetarian options might be homemade lasagne, spinach and ricotta filo or polenta and mushrooms. In summer, the place to be is under an umbrella in the courtyard or on the covered verandah.
