This is a good place to camp if you’re interested in taking an adventurous hike north of Lake Albacutya to Outlet Creek, and into the dunes beyond it; just remember that it gets too hot in summer to comfortably attempt this. A 2WD will get you here only in dry weather. From the Rainbow–Wyperfeld Park Road, turn west onto the OTIT Track.

This campsite is located in Lake Albacutya Park

Albacutya becomes an actual ‘lake’ only when floodwaters find their way here from the Wimmera River. Unfortunately, there’s been no water for over 25 years. But in lieu of the watersports enjoyed here when Albacutya is full, you can do plenty of vigorous walking, including over some sand dunes north of the lake. The park is 14 km north of Rainbow and accessed via the Hopetoun–Rainbow Rd.
