Murray Darling

The Murray Darling is one of the three biggest wine regions in Australia, along with the Riverina in New South Wales and the Riverland in South Australia. But, like the other two regions, it is often dismissed among serious wine circles as an area characterised by bulk operations without charm or character. Another perspective is that this region offers reliable, value-for-money wines. Wineries to visit include Lindemans (Edey Rd, Karadoc via Red Cliffs, (03) 5051 3333), Trentham Estate (Sturt Hwy, Trentham Cliffs, (03) 5024 8888), and Robinvale Wines (Sea Lake Rd, Robinvale, (03) 5026 3955) which produces most of its wines from organically grown grapes.
