A constant stream of food lovers is attracted throughout the day to this smart Italian bakery-cum-bistro. The polished concrete floor and backstage ambience lure colourful locals and the odd celebrity for early breakfast pastries and rustic breads, morning or afternoon coffees and light lunch or brunch dishes. Breakfast specials might be grilled sardines on eggplant relish with toasted sourdough, hearty cheese kransky on toasted baguette with Dijon mustard and caramelised onions, or corn fritters with fried free-range egg, leg ham, rocket and relish. For the sweet-toothed there’s toasted French brioche with mixed berry compote and vanilla ice-cream. A daily risotto and pasta as well as popular steak sandwiches are also available.
