Cafe Di Stasio
At this iconic Latin restaurant on St Kilda’s colourful Fitzroy Street, waiters with attitude serve fine authentic dishes. Tables are close, adding to the intimacy, and the feeling is one of pure theatre – from the outstretched hands that greet you as door handles on entering, to the facemask lamps adorning the wall. Do consider the daily specials – often more than a dozen – before perusing the printed menu. Regulars come for the freshly shucked oysters, fresh pasta of the day, calamari with radicchio or the house specialties – crayfish omelette, roast duckling and braised guinea fowl. The two-course lunch menu with a good selection of dishes and a glass of wine is great value.
