Madrid meets Melbourne in this always-packed Spanish restaurant tucked down a graffitied cobblestone laneway. The terracotta-toned dining area is a flatteringly lit place for roaming through a rich, big-flavoured selection of tapas dishes, but the best and most authentic experience at MoVida comes from sitting up at the bar, snacking on croutons topped with anchovies and tomato sorbet or superb acorn-fed jamon ham while working your way through a Spanish-heavy list of wines and sherries. The sweet end of the meal is also well worth considering as the churros (Spanish doughnuts) here are among the best in town. MoVida is deservedly popular so bookings are essential. The more casual MoVida Next Door is literally next door and has a no-bookings policy.
