Owner/chef Abla Amad has been pleasing diners with her simple yet superb, authentic Lebanese cuisine in this unpretentious terrace house for 30 years. Regulars know to start with traditional dips such as creamy hummus and eggplant baba ganoush, super-fresh tabouli salad and homemade labna (yoghurt cheese), before moving on to perhaps kibbeh meatballs or tangy mint-flavoured cabbage rolls, lemon-marinated chicken kebabs or delicious chicken with almonds and rice. At weekends gather up your friends and literally make a feast of it – only banquets are served on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with some 13 courses. Given notice, Abla will also prepare specific dishes and vegetarian banquets.
