The first in a series of art hotels to grace Melbourne’s inner suburbs, this 115-room boutique accommodation is a welcome addition to cosmopolitan Prahran. Filled with more than 450 ‘grunge’ works by artist Adam Cullen, the $48 million development also boasts two life-sized mosaic cows that greet guests in the foyer. Six floors high, it includes 19 lime-green pod balconies with views over Melbourne’s skyline, a roof-top gymnasium and two dining venues: HuTong dumpling restaurant, and Mediterranean-inspired The Terrace. Located opposite Prahran Market and in the midst of a thriving retail precinct, it makes an ideal near-city base. The group’s flagship hotel, The Olsen, is at 452 Chapel Street, South Yarra.
