There are 300 sites at Rye Foreshore Reserve, which are split between 2 areas: Rye East and Rye West. Needless to say, there’s lots of activity in the area during peak holiday periods, when you may want to consider booking well in advance of your visit. Those who stay here are usually torn between boat-related activities like waterskiing, and another dip in the calm bay. Note: camping is only permitted here Nov–Apr. Access is off Point Nepean Rd.

This campsite is located in Rye Foreshore Reserve

The foreshore at Rye is a flat, hassle-free stretch of waterfront land on which to raise a tent or park a caravan. Fronting the calm waters of Port Phillip Bay between Tootgarook and Blairgowrie, it suits watersports lovers and anglers. From here it’s only a short distance to the upmarket holiday town of Sorrento, with its chi-chi cafes and convivial old limestone pub.
