What started life as a modest cottage in 1934 is now a lovely guesthouse offering B&B accommodation in three guest rooms. Guests have access to a welcoming lounge with books, magazines and the daily papers, made even more comfortable in winter with an open fire. Adjoining is the dining room where co-owner Eric van Grondelle prepares dinner by arrangement using local seasonal produce, herbs and vegetables from his garden and free-range island farm eggs. There are also two themed cottages – one with oriental decor, the other with a fresh coastal theme. With Cowes’ main beach a mere 300-metre walk away, it is perfectly positioned away from the madding crowd.
