Tomo's Japanese Inverloch
This friendly Japanese restaurant in the main street of Inverloch is a contemporary space with walls displaying modern Japanese artworks and a Japanese-style bamboo garden at the back. Owner/chef Tomo Ezaki cooked at one of Melbourne’s favourite Japanese restaurants for several years and already has a loyal following of locals here. If you are fond of chilli, let Tomo know and he’ll spice things up for you. His dishes are designed to be shared – even the steak with wasabi mash is cut for that purpose. Recommended are the gyoza (Japanese-style dumplings) and spicy calamari legs with chilli and garlic. The stand-out main course is touban duck – a fillet of duck breast cooked in a rich broth with mushrooms, leeks, soy, mirin, miso and chilli.
