The Mansfield–Woods Point Rd provides access to this camping area, which lies just 2 km north-west of Woods Point. It has 40 campsites, shaded picnic tables for those inevitable hot days, and an adjacent river in which to cool down. The nearby town of Woods Point and the surrounding area retain some historical facades from their long association with goldmining, dating back to 1862, including the hotel and local store.

This campsite is located in Upper Goulburn Historic Area

From the town of Jamieson, the Goulburn River makes several sweeping turns on its way south past Woods Point. This was where the second of Victoria’s gold rushes took place, and its history is now contained within the Upper Goulburn Historic Area. One-time mining settlements, eerie cemeteries and numerous historic buildings await visitors, who can also indulge in recreational fossicking and canoeing. Note: new and improved facilities, including fireplaces, picnic tables and toilets, were due to be installed at many of the campsites in late 2012. Call the DSE for the latest updates on this. Access to points of interest is via the Mansfield–Woods Point Rd.
