Wilsons Promontory beaches
When the weather is good, you might feel like you want to stay at Wilsons Prom forever, just alternating between campsite and beach as the mood dictates. Tidal River campground is set on Norman Bay, claiming one of the Prom’s best beaches. It is long enough for everyone to spread out, although only one section has summer patrols, and the waves are great for beginner surfers and bodysurfing. Tidal River flows over the beach into the sea at one end and has still pools that are ideal for a leisurely soak or paddling. To the north of Norman Bay is Squeaky Beach, so called because of the almost pure quartz sand that squeaks under your feet. The other northern gem is Whisky Bay, also a magnificent setting for a swim.
