This small single shopfront cafe opened in 2000 to promote local home-grown beef. Today, while it dispenses good coffee and ready-made focaccia and sandwiches to visitors who want a quick meal, it still sources Gippsland beef for its steak sandwiches, burgers, curries, pies, pasta sauces and lasagne. An upgraded menu also offers daily pastas, salads and soups – perhaps pumpkin, ginger and cheddar, chickpea and parsley, or tomato and red lentil. The owner has also just opened Vittles (Shops 2 and 3, 113 Princes Highway) for pizza, pasta and gelati.
