Loch Ard Gorge
Back to nature
This spectacular rocky part of the coastline is where the ship the Loch Ard was wrecked in 1878 (see Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village). An easy 1.4-kilometre, one-hour walk retraces the steps of the two survivors who were cast ashore here and takes you to the Loch Ard cemetery where victims of the wreck were buried. Loch Ard Gorge is near Twelve Apostles.
