This welcoming place has a unique spot right on the water, with deck, courtyard and restaurant views over the sparkling ocean. It is a typical seaside venue, where patrons come in for traditional breakfasts, with all homemade sauces and trimmings, stepping up to an up-market cafe-style menu for lunch. But come dinner time, linen napkins appear, table lanterns are lit and the beautiful space becomes almost formal. Try local Port Arlington oysters – natural, Kilpatrick, Rockefeller or with Thai nahm phrik sauce – before considering the terrific seafood bisque, beer-battered King George whiting or grilled porterhouse steak with Cafe de Paris butter. An absolute bonus for dinner guests is the 12-seater courtesy bus that will pick you up and deposit you back home safely after a few wines.
