Upper Chadwick Campground
The camping area at Upper Chadwick is on the border between Lerderderg State Park and Wombat State Forest, close to O’Briens Crossing – continue east from the crossing on O’Briens Rd and then head north on Upper Chadwick Track. If you want a break from the solitude up here, head back around to the southern edge of the park and join daytrippers in swimming at Mackenzies Flat and Graham Dam.

This campsite is located in Lerderderg State Park
This park takes up a Tasmania-shaped chunk of land between Blackwood in the north and Bacchus Marsh in the south. Its centrepiece is the 300 m deep gorge carved out of sandstone by the Lerderderg River. Well-defined walking tracks expose you to goldmining relics and the local koalas, wedge-tailed eagles and swamp wallabies. Main access is via Lerderderg Gorge Rd, which leads off the Bacchus Marsh–Gisborne Rd.
