Werribee Park

The key feature of Werribee Park is a beautifully preserved 1870s mansion with an interior painstakingly restored to its original opulence. The mansion is surrounded by 12 hectares of gardens, including the Victoria State Rose Garden, a grotto and a farmyard area. Next to the park is the Werribee Open Range Zoo, developed around the Werribee River. With a variety of animals from Africa, Asia, North America and Australia, guided safaris through the replicated African savannah are a must. Accommodation is available at Mansion Hotel & Spa ((03) 9731 4000) and through the zoo’s Slumber Safari ((03) 9731 9600).
