Surrounded by the vines of Badger’s Brook Estate, the atmosphere at Bella Vedere is rustic country style, casual but smart. The open-plan kitchen offers diners a view of the intricate food preparation undertaken by owner/chef Gary Cooper and his team. The menu offers exceptional food, comprising fresh regional produce meticulously prepared. Produce and bread baked on the premises can be purchased from the bakery, and there is a vegetable garden out the back door. Warming soups and comforting dishes of duck, corned beef, pork and baked salmon might feature in winter, while desserts might be locally made ice-creams or lightly poached creations and flavoursome tarts based on seasonal fruits such as raspberries, pears and quinces. Friday night is à la carte and on Saturday night there’s a degustation menu.
