Dandenong Ranges National Park

Three hundred kilometres of walking tracks crisscross Dandenong Ranges National Park, including some impressive long-distance options for an area so close to suburbia. In Sherbrooke Forest, considered by many to be the most pristine section of the park, the 9‑kilometre Sherbrooke Trail visits forests of mountain ash and tree ferns, and Sherbrooke Falls (most beautiful during winter and spring). Keep your eyes out for lyrebirds south of the falls.
