Dandenong Ranges National Park

In the Dandenong Ranges, the best place for wildlife-watching is the south-east section of Sherbrooke Forest. Lyrebirds are the star attraction, and there are good chances of spotting them along Neumann Track or south of Sherbrooke Falls. Both the Sherbrooke and Grants picnic areas have plenty of crimson rosellas. On walking trails through the forest, listen for the evocative whiplash call of the scrub-dwelling whipbird and the tinkle of bellbirds (bell miners).
