An old bank building in the main street of Yarra Glen has become the public face of the much-awarded and admired Hargreaves Hill Brewing Company, located in nearby Steel’s Creek. The front bar is the scene of both quaffing and tasting the microbrewery’s output, which includes a Pale Ale, a Porter and a Hefeweizen. Those looking to match their beer with some food should head into the wooden-floored rooms out the back where simple but deftly handled Mediterranean-style dishes complement the beer, perhaps cumin‑dusted squid, freshly shucked oysters or tasting plates of local produce.
