The TarraWarra winery has one of the more spectacular cellar door buildings in the Yarra Valley, including a cellar door, a stunning gallery of modern Australian art and an elegant wine bar that takes in the views of this very beautiful property. The clean-lined room with its stone fireplace is minimal without being sterile and is an ideal backdrop to the rustic Italian- and French-influenced menu. Duck terrine is teamed with pumpernickel while pasta is tossed with braised local rabbit. The food has obviously been designed with TarraWarra’s deftly crafted wines in mind, making this a very civilised winery pit stop indeed.
