Bulong Estate Winery, Cellar Door and Restaurant

Nestled among the vines in a natural amphitheatre looking east to Mount Donna Buang and the Brittannia Ranges, this modern winery restaurant has spacious decks and established oak trees for alfresco dining accompanied by happy birdsong. Third-generation French chef Antoine Cheron, from Normandy, produces a modern French menu with classics such as snails with Parisian garlic butter, traditional French-style mussels, confit duck or wild barramundi. He sources much Yarra Valley produce, free-range eggs and terrific local seasonal berries that might end up in desserts such as his exceptional almond three-berry torte. Ask the knowledgeable wait staff to suggest appropriate estate-grown wines.
