This camping area is sited next to the Latrobe River in the south of the park. If you find the surrounding mountain ash mesmerising, make sure you hunt out the sky-scraping Ada Tree, a real giant – one of the largest trees in the state. The Latrobe River camping area is located on Ada River Rd, via the Noojee–Powelltown Rd.

This campsite is located in Yarra State Forest

The mighty mountain ash trees swaying gently in the breeze are a big drawcard for visitors to Yarra State Forest, located 75 km east of Melbourne via the Eastern Fwy. Walking trails reveal waterfalls and the majesty of the local tree line, and show the route of an old logging-industry tramline. From Yarra Junction or Warburton, drive into the forest to Powelltown.
