With its soaring, curving roof and floor-to-ceiling windows capturing some of the Yarra Valley’s best views, this winery restaurant certainly offers diners a dramatic sense of place. The wine list mainly sticks to the house labels – many of them available by the glass – but the modern Australian menu is not afraid to venture beyond the local, and might include Western Australian crab and ocean trout. The food is clever without being tricky, with desserts being a particular highlight. Noise levels can rise when the buses roll in and the place fills up, but the roar is convivial rather than oppressive.
