One of the Swan Valley’s longest-running craft breweries, Ironbark Brewing is located within the grounds of the former Valencia Winery where customers can enjoy the beers in an Aussie bush-themed setting. The outdoor beer garden has a wood-fired pizza oven and lots of Australiana and rustic knick-knacks on display; the brewery’s motto is: ‘As Aussie as Banjo Paterson’. Owner and head brewer Graeme White was a farmer before he caught the brewing bug and he was among the first intake of Brewery Management students at Edith Cowan University. He largely designed and built the 15-hectolitre brewing plant, which produces a surprising array of house brews including several different lagers and wheat beers, and Hannan’s Lager, a former Kalgoorlie brew which White obtained the naming rights to.
