Eyre Bird Observatory

Eyre Bird Observatory is Australia’s first bird observatory, and offers nature lovers the opportunity to birdwatch, bushwalk and beachcomb in Nuytsland Nature Reserve. Over 240 species of birds have been recorded here, including Major Mitchell cockatoos, brush bronzewings, honeyeaters and mallee fowl. Courses, tours and accommodation are available. Access is via a four-wheel-drive-only road. The observatory is also a good spot for whale-watching from June to October.
