Fitzgerald River Coastal Walk - Fitzgerald River National Park
Hiking and walking
Outside whale-watching season, Fitzgerald River National Park is predominantly free of tourists. This is the setting for a challenging, 78‑kilometre wilderness trek from Point Ann (the destination for whale-watching), east to Barrens Beach. The reward is jaw-dropping scenery of headlands and beaches, and close encounters with one of the most colourful patches of flora in the world (spring is the best time). Arrange water drops to collect on the way or use one of the four-wheel-drive tracks to access the trail in between for a shorter walk.
