Camping - West Australian goldfields

The Western Australian goldfields region is not the easiest area for the ecotraveller, but there are a few recommended natural attractions and campsites around Kalgoorlie. To the north is an ex-cattle station, Goongarrie, which has been destocked and made into a national park. It has some good camping among the mulga. Goldfields Woodlands National Park, southwest of Coolgardie, also has plenty of spots to camp among the saltbush, salt lakes, salmon gums, she-oaks and mallee. Victoria Rock, in the south-east of the park, is recommended.
