Albany Coast beaches
The shape of the Albany coastline, with a peninsula in the south curving around to contain King George Sound, provides a good selection of beaches from calm beaches facing the bay to surf beaches facing the ocean. The town’s popular Middleton Beach at the top of the bay is patrolled in summer. Other beaches to consider include the protected Misery Beach beyond the old Cheynes Beach whaling station or, east of town, Nanarup Beach and the gorgeous Two Peoples Bay. Most beaches in the area share the features of granite rocks, white sand and beckoning blue water.
