A minuscule wheat-belt town about 273 km north-east of Perth, Bencubbin’s surrounds represent the last outposts of arable land before the desert exerts its desiccating influence on most non-indigenous plants. The caravan park is on the Bencubbin–Trayning Rd, providing travellers with a good range of facilities, including on-site accommodation. Visitors in spring will be treated to a spectacular wildflower display. Fire restrictions could be in place, so ask at the shire office for an update before setting a fire.
