This little coastal town at the mouth of the Moore River, about 100 km north of Perth, stands guard over the wreck of the Dutch ship Gilt Dragon, which foundered on an offshore reef in 1656. The caravan park has large, grassed, shady sites on the foreshore. It is well-sited to take advantage of activities such as windsurfing, and Guilderton boasts some of the best windsurfing in the world. Anglers and canoeists will also enjoy their time here, and the area is noted for its safe swimming.
