Jurien Bay
Town
Population 1175
Jurien Bay, settled in the mid-1850s, is the centre of a lobster fishing industry. The jetty was constructed in 1885 to enable a more efficient route to markets for locally produced wool and hides. Located within a sheltered bay protected by reefs and islands, the town has wide beaches and sparkling waters ideal for swimming, waterskiing, windsurfing, snorkelling, diving and surfing. The Jurien Bay boat harbour services the fishing fleet and has facilities for holiday boating and fishing. Anglers can fish from boat, jetty and beach.
