On the banks of the Moore River, Moora is the largest town between Perth and Geraldton. The area in its virgin state was a large salmon gum forest. Many of these attractive trees can still be seen.

The Berkshire Valley Folk Museum James Clinch, who came from England in 1839, created a village in the dry countryside of WA based on his home town in Berkshire. Over a 25-year period from 1847 Clinch built a homestead, barn, manager's cottage, stables, shearing shed and bridge. The elaborate buildings were made from adobe, pise, handmade bricks and unworked stone. Open by appt; 19 km E.
