The Rottnest Lodge is the island’s premier hotel and includes several historical buildings, including the original barracks and a prison. No longer thought of as an Alcatraz, a more up-market clientele is attracted these days with a range of rooms available. All rooms have ensuites, some with lakeside views, and the family rooms include two-bedroom apartments.
